Study
The MSc in Mathematical Modeling in Modern Technologies and Financial Engineering has been included in the internationalization program of NTUA postgraduate studies with the aim of attracting students from abroad and to promote the educational and research activities of the NTUA. The project “Support for the Internationalization of Postgraduate Studies at the National Technical University of Athens” (MIS 5161485) is co-funded by Greece and the European Union through the Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning.”
Program Directions
Specialized methods of numerical analysis, mathematical optimization, and differential equation solving for addressing complex scientific and technological challenges.
Advanced statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques for analyzing and processing large data sets in real time.
Development, analysis, and validation of mathematical models for solving complex problems in scientific, technological, and economic fields.
Purpose of the M.Sc. Program
The purpose of Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programs (IDPP) is:
- the specialization of graduates of the National Technical University of Athens or other equivalent universities in the modern methods and techniques of interdisciplinary cooperation and research, capable of adequately meeting the growing needs of the public and private sectors in Greece and other countries within and outside the European Union in the scientific areas covered by the Postgraduate Program.
- the in-depth training of scientists so that they become capable of producing new knowledge.
It goes without saying that the educational and research results of the MSc programs aim to connect with production, stimulate the labor market, and maximize their utilization by the national economy.

Main criteria for selecting postgraduate students
- Overall grade of the diploma/degree
- Ranking order in the year of graduation
- Grades in undergraduate courses related to the master’s program
- Performance in the thesis, where this is required at undergraduate level
- Any other postgraduate degrees related to the subject of the MSc program
- Research, professional, or technological activity of the candidate
- Letters of recommendation
- Personal interview and
- If the candidate is an employee, the needs of the organization from which he/she comes and the candidate’s prospects
